Like I keep telling you, he doesn't have many AMD contacts. He mainly has Intel and nvidia contacts, and the Intel contacts are on the CPU side of things. You could learn all this, but, unfortunately for you it would involve lots of listening to his past videos.

And yes, most of his nvidia info has come from the Quadro side of things in the past.

You mean he *says* he doesn't have many AMD contacts ;)

Do you *really* know where his information comes from - other than what he says in his videos?

At any rate ... it doesn't matter. Let's see how accurate his information turns out to be in the long run and how "evil" Nvidia's plans really are to scalp their own customers by artificially causing shortages just to inflate prices.

As my dad used to always annoyingly repeat, "the proof of the pudding is in the eating" :P

My 3080 performance review is expected to be posted at 6 AM PDT Wednesday ... I guess that is about 11 PM your time also on Wednesday. LMK what you think of its performance. I have 33 games already benchmarked (rasterized; no RTX) plus 10 of those games will be RTX On/DLSS. And I already overclocked it and benched 15 games vs. stock - and CUDA/Optix Blender benchmarks. I am working on latency and power draw now and .. some other stuff under NDA until then.

Any last minute testing suggestions are being accepted - time allowing. Or I will use the suggestions for a follow up. Of course, I have to test VR afterward.

He has had plenty of guests on his podcast videos including industry insiders and they haven't been able to trip up his story so far. Perhaps you should contact him and ask to be a guest in a future episode? It was 4:42 PM my local time when I hit post here.

I don't want to trip up his story now. I just want to see if it unfolds as he predicts - we only have to wait one month to test the veracity of his insider's claims. I am expressing my doubts, and suggesting that his information may be from AMD PR industry insiders.

As my dad used to say ... "the pr ... "

For those interested in how Ryzen compares with i9 using a 3080, here is an interesting review.

https://www.techpowerup.com/review/nvidi...0k/28.html

Intel despite PCIe4 being an advantage for AMD, is still faster for gaming although the results are much closer at 4K (1%) than at 1440P (7%) or especially at 1080P (10%).

I disagree with Wiz that i9 should not be overclocked. I do it because my results are more consistent (and give higher performance) with mildly all-core-locked OC'd than at stock. OtOH, I agree that it's a HUGE waste to OC the 3080. There is no performance headroom worth wasting energy on (1%). Maybe for the the FTW models that pump a lot more voltage into a golden chip using 3x8-pin PCIe connectors. We'll see those reviews tomorrow.

But I get to sit back and enjoy them, I did not receive an AIB 3080 although I may (possibly) in the future. And I have no idea yet if I will even get a 3090 or not ... so I will start VR benching tonight.

BTR's server got slammed today ... and it held up well. There was a ton of traffic from social media as my review got posted to 3 reddits subs that total over 5 million members.

This is pretty interesting ... and BTR's review was included:

It's an excellent overview .. and I am happy to see my results are very much in-line with the other reviewers.
