What's happening at BTR .. and report issues here
#61
No, I was talking to the troll. :)

Oh, you mean the spammer?

That thread got deleted.  No porn here!!

Then the same guy tries to sign up again with a .ru email.  We aren't that stupid, russkie!

And next time anyone signs up, their posts will individually have to pass moderation before they are approved.

BTR is a spam and shill free zone
:)

To be honest I'm just glad that you got things up and running here so quickly. As for you and Dave, these things happen. It's probably for the best that you guys each have your own site now. I do feel bad for Dave in that he is having such a hard time getting ABT restored. It's going to be hard for him. He needs a good writer as well. Really all that he has left now is a forum which is a shadow of its former self. I'm honestly starting to think that ABT is just going to die completely. Dave is paying over $30/month to keep it going and there is no ad revenue.

Yes, it is too bad.  I really love to benchmark and report on game performance and hardware, and it just didn't work out there.

So here we are.
Cool

Well perhaps Dave will reconsider and sell you ABT once it is completely dead. He may restore it and turn things around but as of right now things look really bad for ABT.

It will be a cold day in ... or a warm Winter day in Indy
:D

I think he blames me.

The forum posts of 6-1/2 years may be lost ... and for that I apologize and I feel badly about, but it is out of my hands.

However, what is in my control are all of the articles and the reviews that I have written, and I will be able to not only restore them here, but I plan to update some of the better ones. We shall go on and learn from the past.

I don't really care whose fault it is. No one intended for ABT to go down the way it did. I'm just happy that you were able to get things up and running here so nicely right away.

As for the 6.5 years worth of posts on the forum, it's a shame if they are lost but it's not the end of the world. The bigger issue is the fact that half of the people over there decided not to join us here. It's too bad. I'm sure that the forum here will grow but I will miss BoFox and Ocre in particular. I will miss Dave as well. I doubt he will ever come over here.

It is both of our faults! A partnership failure is never one-sided and you just heard my reasons for building BTR. I guess it can be much like a weak marriage when you wake up one day and realize you just got to get out.

As to the community being split, it was already very small. So the only way to go is up and we will attract more members IF I can write compelling reviews. And the ABT members are welcome here whether they choose to participate or not.

Is the 60 second posting limit issue fixed? I think the timer is now set to 30 seconds.
